Ripon Print

SKU: JG0279

Ripon is a charming, market town in North Yorkshire with a some wonderful, little gems to explore. The impressive and ancient Ripon Cathedral dominates the skyline and the market square is as charming as they come.  It is a Spa town and like nearby Harrogate, the baths drew people in for centuries in such of relief for their aching bones (no doubt partly caused by the bitter cold of Yorkshire ... I lived there for 27 years so know all about this!). The racecourse entertained the daytripping crowds from Leeds and Newcastle, who hopefully managed to avoid the Workhouse and Police Station, both of which are now museums that are now a record of Ripon's less salubrious past.
