Lincoln
Lincoln Cathedral is an architectural masterpiece, rising out of the flat agricultural plain of Lincolnshire like an oasis in a bleak and empty northern land. I was always in awe of its gothic towers, grotesque gargoyles and beautiful turrets when I was a child. I loved the steep cobbled street that led up to the minster, lined by low rows of medieval houses from top to bottom. This is where the Magna Carta lies and with that, the constitution of Britain, written in 1215. My Lincoln Cityscape also includes the Red Arrows flying across the sky, which is a nod to the military heritage in the region.
